Iranian Speaker: S. Arabia stirring crisis in region for failure in Yemen

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani rapped Saudi Arabia for fomenting crisis and tension in the region, and said Riyadh has even contacted terrorist groups in Eastern Iran to insecurity in the country.

"The Saudis dont have any way but stirring crisis in the region for their failure in Yemen and hopelessness resulted from their diplomatic behavior," Larijani said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday.

"The Saudis have fomented crises for certain regional states and are pursuing disintegration of some other states," he added.

Larijani revealed that the Saudi officials have contacted some notorious terrorist groups in Eastern Iran to foment insecurity inside the country, adding that some anti-revolutionary elements have also contacted the terrorist groups in Western Iran to work out ways to stir tension in the Islamic Republic.

In relevant remarks in May, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh warned that Saudi Arabia and some other Arab states have intensified their attempts at bordering areas to create insecurity inside Iran.

"At present, some investments (to support the terrorist groups) have been made at the bordering areas with the support of certain Arab countries, specially al-Saud, and these investments have seven-folded in the past Iranian year (ended on March 19) compared with the previous year," Hajizadeh said, addressing a gathering in Tehran.

He also referred to Iran's advisory role in Iraq and Syria to help them stand against the terrorist groups, and said the high level of security and stability in Iran despite being located in a volatile region is the result of the Iranian military advisors' sacrifices and cooperation with the resistance front.

Also, in April, IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said Saudi Arabia is masterminding terrorist attacks on the Islamic Republic by training and funding terrorist groups along the borders.

Speaking to reporters, Pakpour saidIran has arrested terrorists that have confessed to their affiliation toSaudi Arabia and some other Persian Gulf Arab states.

Pakpour said Riyadh is striving hard to make Iran insecure, and added, "Right now, countries like the United ArabEmirates and Saudi Arabia are engaged in organizing and equipping these groups but the reason why no terrorist act is committed is due to our preparedness."
