Defeat in Yemen and Syria, compensation in Iraq

Tehran, May 8, The Iran project -Saudi Arabias strategy, pursued in the Middle East by the US support, is disintegrating the states and undermining the unity between different religions in the region; Saudis, using various tools, follow this strategy in different countries, but how much has it been successful?

Saudi Arabia's aggressive policy in the region had started long ago when former Saudi KingMalek Abdullah, spending too much money, supported Takfiri groups and posed a great threat to the global and regional peace.

But this was not the only legacy that the next king of Saudi Arabia,Salman bin Abdulaziz, was pleased to have it, a line of division in the regional countries which were ready to break down was King Abdullahs another legacy for Saudis new ruler that was quickly exploited by King Salman.

Defeated in Yemen and drowned in the swamp of Syria

In Yemen, Saudi Arabia's failure to support its puppet, resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi led to a direct military attack which was doomed to failure from the outset. Despite spending a lot of money, it has led to aceasefire since Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey don't cooperate with Saudis. Even America does not completely support this attack because it will help al-Qaede spread more.

It is said that around 9,500 people have been killed in more than a year of Saudi aggression against Yemen while hundreds of thousands have been displaced across the country. The UN estimates showthat fighting in Yemen has put more than 80 percent of the population on the brink of famine.

Moreover, Assad overthrow plan did not go so well to meet Saudis and Americans goals; they asserted in August2011that the time had come for President Assad to step aside. But after four years, being supported by Iran, Russia Iraq and Lebanese Hezbollah, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is in a better situation and even America doesn't say anything about Assad leaving power.

Iraq, a weak link in the chain

In the meantime, Iraq is the weakest link in the chain of countries opposing Saudi Arabia. Considering Iraqs different religions and ethnicities and the problems it faced with after being occupied, Saudis are constantly taking steps to break up the country. A united Iraq is not what Saudis wan, and if they previously didn't have a direct tool for pursuing the policy of dividing Iraq, their embassy is now officially a den of espionage, plotting against united Iraq.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry summoned the Saudi ambassador in January 2016 to protest his meddlesome remarksabout Baghdad's campaign against terrorists. The Saudi ambassadorformerly claimed that sectarianism and tribalism were the driving force behind the Iraqi governments arming volunteer forces known as the Popular Mobilization Forces or Hashid Shaabi. He had also alleged that the Iraqi volunteer forces are not popular among Iraqi people.

Diversity of religion, language and ethnicity and enjoying natural resources are among the natural factors created discord in Iraq and if Saudi Arabias money and promises and Americas political will, be added to them, thesefactors will be exploited differently.

On the other hand, with ISIS getting stronger, there should be other forces along the country's weak army and popular Mobilization Forces or Hashid Shaabi is the missing link of defense in Iraq. But as the forces formed by the Sunnis, it will thwart Saudis ambitions in Iraq and deterring Americans from further meddlingin the country. So assaulting on popular Mobilization Forces is another common point Saudi Arabia and US have in Iraq.

Divide and conquer

Apart from discord between religions, the division between Shia or Sunni groups is also one of the other purposes of Saudis and Americans. Meanwhile, Iraqi Shia leaderMuqtada al-Sadrs entry into Baghdad's Green Zone, though regarded as a domestic political movement, finally will help Saudi Arabia and US in achieving their goal.

On Saturday, hundreds of supporters of Moqtada al-Sadr stormed Baghdads Green Zone in protest at MPs failure to convene for a vote on overhauling the government.

Groups inside Iraq are expected to be vigilant against enemies' plots to partition Iraq since regional countries prefer a united Iraq rather a separated one with different names!
