Georgia restores visa-free travel scheme for Iranians

TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (MNA) Georgian foreign ministry has informed Irans embassy in the country of revival of a former visa-free travel scheme once abandoned by government in Tbilisi.


The revival will allow Iranian nationals to visit Georgia for tourism and trade without needing a visa for 45 days. This is a unilateral measure by Georgia and was informed to Mr. Abbas Talebi, Irans ambassador to Georgia by countrys deputy-foreign minister for regional and political affairs. It will go effective on Monday February 15, the statement said.The revival also will improve tourism and trade between citizens of both countries to the level before unilateral cancellation of the scheme on June 2013 by Georgia.
