Amir Abdollahian arrives in Moscow for talks on Syria

Moscow, Jan 27, IRNA Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived here Wednesday to hold talks with Russian officials on important regional questions, issue of Syria in particular.


Amir Abdollahian is to meet Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov who is also special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa.

The meeting will focus on ways to solve the Syrian crisis regarding the Geneva peace talks on Syria.

He is also due to attend a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

Peace talks on Syria had been slated for January 27-28, but it was postponed to January 29 (on Friday) as the Russian media reported.

Both Iran and Russia support those talks and believe that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is to hold talks between Syrian sides without foreigners' interference.
