IRGC top commander: Iran's power acknowledged by enemies

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari underlined Iran's growing might and power, and said the enemies have also admitted this fact.

"Today, everyone is speaking about the Islamic Republic's might and the enemies have also admitted it and have surrendered to the Islamic Revolution's power and we see this clearly," Jafari said, addressing a gathering of Basiji (Volunteer) forces in the Northeastern city of Mashhad on Wednesday.

He also stressed that 37 years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, it is still continuing its path more powerfully than ever.

Jafari, meantime, warned that the enemies have resorted to new and highly complicated methods to weaken Iran's power, and said, "Their goal has not changed and they have only changed their method, and we should also know that while the Revolution stays on course, hostility of the enemies, specially the US, will not fade away and it is just their method that changes."

In relevant remarks in November, Major General Jafari underlined that the plots hatched by the enemies to make the country insecure have failed due to the preparedness of the country's Armed Forces.

"The enemy tried hard to make our country (Iran) an insecure place, but all of these plots have been defused by the security forces' efforts and power," General Jafari said, addressing the Basij (Volunteer) Forces taking part in the massive maneuvers near the city of Qom, Central Iran.

He pointed to the regional crises, and said, "These insecurities have gone beyond the region but it should be noted that the main target of these crises are the Islamic revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, but the enemy has realized today that it cannot talk to Iran with a bullying language and it has admitted that Iran is a regional superpower."

Also, in August, General Jafari underscored that the IRGC along with the Iranian people doesnt allow the world powers to influence the country after the Vienna nuclear agreement.

"The IRGC is strongly standing beside the brave and faithful people of Islamic Iran and thanks to this resistance, sympathy and unity of words and with God's help and assistance, we will not allow the hegemonic powers to exercise influence on our country in any area," Jafari said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran.

His remarks came after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described Iran and the US regional policies as complete opposite, and said Tehran was standing firm against Washington's divisive plots in the region.

Addressing participants in the 8th International General Assembly of Islamic Radios and Televisions Union in Tehran in August, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the recent nuclear agreement between Iran and the world powers, and said, "Washington imagined that it could use this agreement whose fate is not clear yet - as its final approval is not yet a definite fact neither in Iran nor in the US - to find a way to wield influence in Iran; and this was their intention."

But "we closed this path; and we will definitely keep it closed", he underlined.

"We will not allow the US to influence (our) economy, or politics or culture. We will stand against such penetration with all our power - that is, thanks God, at a high level today," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"They seek to disintegrate the regional states and create small and subordinate countries but God willing, this will not happen," Ayatollah Khamenei warned, elaborating on the US regional policies.

"Disintegration of Iraq and, if they can, Syria is the clear policy of the Americans, but the territorial integrity of the regional states, Iraq and Syria is highly important to us," he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei elaborated on Iran's regional policies, and said, "Iran fully supports resistance in the region, specially the resistance in Palestine, and will support anyone who struggles against Israel and strikes at the Zionist regime."

Noting that fighting against the US divisive policies in the region was one of Iran's main policies, he voiced strong protest at the propaganda efforts made in London under the pretext of supporting Shiites and against the Sunni Muslims, and said such moves merely serve the arrogant powers.

Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed Iran's support for all the oppressed people, including the Bahrainis and the Yemenis, but meantime stressed, "Despite baseless claims, we dont interfere in these countries but continue supporting the oppressed people."

Following Ayatollah Khamenei's comments, the Iranian parliamentarians joined the '#We-Dont-Allow-It-Either' campaign to show obedience to the Leader's orders.
