Tehran, October 27, The Iran Project � Head of the Islamic World Science Citation Center says Iranian researchers produced some 31,588 scientific documents and articles in 2014.

Speaking to a reporter, Jaafar Mehrad, head of the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) noted the indicators based on which universities and academic institutions are ranked, adding that quality, function and citations are among the most notable standards in recent years.

He also highlighted Iran's fast growing rate in the global science production compared to other countries and further said: "Islamic Azad University, University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tarbiat Modares University, Sharif University of Technology, Iran's University of Science and Technology and Ferdousi University of Mashhad are among the top ten universities with largest share of science production in Iran in 2014."

Elsewhere in his remarks, Mehrad introduced Alireza Esteghamati and Farshad Farzad Far, two medical researchers from the Tehran University of Medical Science whose article in the Lancet magazine has been cited as many as 295 times since publishing.
