Russian Energy Minister sees good chances to return to projects in Iran

The Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission's meeting in October may help Moscow resume its cooperation with Tehran.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) The Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission will take place in late October-early November and Russia has good chances to return to projects in Iran, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Saturday.
"The Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission will convene in late October-early November. Now Iran is readying proposals regarding participation of companies in its production projects, and when they announce them [proposals] it will be clear whether they meet the interests of our companies. On the whole we believe that we have a good chance to return to cooperation in Iran projects," Novak told journalists.
Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan said last week that Tehran had proposed to Moscow to hold a meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental committee on trade in November to discuss prospects of cooperation in energy sector in light of Iran sanctions lifting.
