Defense minister criticize Saudi rulers for Mina tragedy, Yemen war

Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA - Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan on Sunday criticized Saudi rulers for Mina tragedy and air and ground assaults against Yemen.

He made the remarks in response to the condolence letter of his Lebanese counterpart Samir Moqbel.

Mina tragedy has bothered the Muslim Ummah around the world, the official added.

Calling the Saudi mismanagement and incompetence as the cause of death of Hajj pilgrims, he criticized Saudi air and ground assault against Yemen.

Saudi rulers' crimes in Yemen which reminds Zionist regime crimes in Lebanon and Palestine is alarming, Dehqan noted.

He underlined that Muslim states should help end the Saudi aggression against Yemen.

The Mina tragedy is a test for the Muslim states to form an international fact-finding committee for finding the real cause of the Mina catastrophe, defense minister underlined.

Dehqan wished success and well-being of Lebanese nation and thanked Moqbel for his condolence letter.

Lebanon's defense minister extended message of condolences to his Iranian counterpart on Mina tragic event that left 465 Iranians dead.

In his messages, the Lebanese minister described the Mina tragedy as the one which touched all Muslims' feelings.

On September 24, a fatal crush took place in Mina as two large crowds of pilgrims were on their way to participate in the symbolic stoning the Satan, a Hajj ritual.

104 bodies of dead Iranian pilgrims arrived at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport early Saturday and another 114 bodies arrived on Sunday.

A total of 465 Iranian pilgrims lost their lives during the Hajj rituals in Mina.
