Iran to provide free tablets for low vision students
Tehran, October 3, The Iran Project the Iran's Special Education Department says the institution distributes 500 to 600 free tablets among the partially-sighted students.

Speaking to a reporter, Majid Ghadami, the head of the Special Education Department of the Ministry of Educationnoted that the students, who studied in the exceptional schools last year, received the free tablets, adding that one third of the children with visual impairments in Iran's special schools are the partially-sighted students.

"We have newly entered students in the special schools," he said, underliningthat the department has prepared a list of the new students to purchase more tablets.

Earlier, the departments of Special Education announced that for the first time it provides free support services to 120 thousand students in the country's special schools. According to this plan, 550 thousand textbooks, audio tapes, and educational software were distributed in the schools across the country.
