Iran is Iraq's most trusted trade partner: Envoy

Khomein, Markazi Prov., IRNA - Iraqi Ambassador in Tehran Rajeh Saleh Abdud al-Musawi said Iran is the most trusted trade partner of his country.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 13th Flower Exhibition in Khomein, he said trade exchange between the two neighboring countries has drastically increased.

The envoy said Iran can turn to the top exporter of agricultural goods to Iraq upon increasing the quality of its products.

Iran and Iraq enjoy growing ties following the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, in the wake of the 2003 US invasion.

Tehran and Baqdad are set to increase the value of their bilateral trade to $20 billion in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2014-March 21, 2015).
