Iran puts on agenda plans to revive three rivers

The director of the Environment Protection Organization has said that her agency has put on its agenda plans to revive the Kashf-Rood, Zard-Rood and Gohar-Rood Rivers.

Masoumeh Ebtekar further said that the government has taken measures to solve water scarcity in the country by reviving groundwater resources, and correcting cultivation methods and watershed protection.

The environment chief also blamed an imbalance between cultivation and environmental resources for a halt to the flow of water into the Zayandeh River [the largest river in the central plateau of Iran].
