Iran, Japan to sign bilateral investment pact next week

Beijing, Sept 4, IRNA Japan announced on Friday that Tehran and Tokyo will begin their first serious talks on a bilateral investment pact after the Vienna nuclear agreement.

According to a communiqu issued by the Foreign Ministry of Japan, the three-day meeting is going to begin in Tehran as of next Monday.
Japan intends to expand its economic and commercial cooperation with Iran more than ever before after the termination of the anti-Iranian sanctions and beginning of implementation of the Iran-Sextet Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it adds.
In Japanese Foreign Ministry's communiqu, published by Kyodo News Agency, hope is expressed that the bilateral joint investments pact will pave the ground for the presence of Japanese commercial and trading companies in the Iranian markets.
Keeping in mind that high ranking political and economic delegations from Germany, France, Italy and India have visited Iran and negotiated with various Iranian officials, the Japanese, too, do not wish to lose the ground to their economic competitors, hoping to be benefitted from the emerged opportunity.
