Tehran, Baku discuss expansion of energy ties

TEHRAN August 4 (Shana)--Azerbaijan's Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev has met with Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh to confer with the Iranian minister expansion of energy ties between the two neighboring Asian states.

The two officials met here in Tehran to discuss boosting of industrial cooperation for construction of oil equipment, swap of oil and export of natural gas, said Amir-Hossein Zamani-Nia, deputy minister for international affairs and trading, on the sidelines of the meeting.

The two sides also indicated interest in boosting oil and gas cooperation in the Caspian Sea.

"The highlights of the meeting will be followed up on in the expert level," he said.

Zamani-Nia underlined the political willingness expressed by the two officials during the meeting for enhancing energy ties.
