ISFAHAN, Aug. 02 (MNA) � Iranian Foulad Mobarakeh Company made its first double helical gear after two years of endeavor, without any foreign help.Built under a consortium contract in Isfahan, the gear weighs 70 tons with a diameter of 5,000 mm and 1,600 mm height and is the biggest double helical gear used in hot rolled steel plants in Iran.

The equipment manager of the company Hossein Hemmatgir said that the two-year-long project consisted of provision of the material, assembling the parts of the gear, wielding, and final assembling of herringbone pinion and crownwheel.

The domestic sufficiency in building the gear obviates the need for purchasing the foreign models of it, saving a great sum for the company and the country.

With annual output of 5.6 million tons of steel, Foulad Mobarakeh Company is the biggest steel producer in Iran.
