Yemens tribal forces retaliated against the deadly Saudi airstrikes by firing missiles at targets south of Saudi Arabia on May 5, more than one month after Riyadhs aggression started. Over 1,200 people have been killed in the airstrikes so far.
The retaliatory attacks have up to now claimed scores of lives, most of them Saudi military forces stationed in bases and military facilities in Najran Province.
Brigadier General Ahmed al-Assiri, a spokesman for the Saudi military, threatened late Thursday that the Yemeni forces will pay a harsh and expensive price.
Since the Saudi aggression started on March 26, the popular committees in Yemen, loyal to Houthi Ansarullah fighters, had repeatedly warned that the indiscriminate targeting of civilians and Yemens economic and public infrastructure would not go unanswered.
Assiri said, however, that the Yemenis have crossed a red line by shelling the border regions.
The comments came after Saudi Arabia announced plans for a five-day halt to its brutal war on Yemen with the alleged aim of facilitating humanitarian aid to people in the impoverished Arab state.
Yemenis condemn Saudi attacks
Meanwhile, Yemeni medical workers have staged a demonstration in front of the United Nations office in the capital, Sanaa, to denounce Saudi Arabias blockade on their country.
The protesters on Thursday urged the international community to pressure Riyadh to allow humanitarian aid into Yemen.

This comes as Yemens national commission for documentation of Saudi Arabias atrocities has revealed new details about crimes against civilians committed by Saudi Arabia in cities like Saada and Aden.
In a press conference on Thursday, the commission called on the international community to put an end to Riyadhs indiscriminate air bombardment.
Saudi indiscriminate bombardment of residential areas across the country and the use of banned weapons like cluster bombs are crimes against the Yemenis, a statement by a member of the commission (shown below) said.
Yemeni army officials also warned Saudi Arabia against further intervention in the internal affairs of Yemen and attempts to sow strife in the country.

Many global bodies have slammed Riyadh for conducting unlawful airstrikes against civilians. Many have also warned against Saudi Arabias ongoing aerial and sea blockade that is threatening the lives of many Yemenis .
