Quake hits south of Iran

Bandar-e Abbas, Hormuzgan Prov, April 27, IRNA An almost strong earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale shook the non-residential island of Hendurabi in this southern Iranian province on Monday morning.




According to seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 10:04 hours local time (05:34 GMT).

It was at a depth of 20 km.

There is no report on any damage caused by the earthquake.

Hendurabi is located 28 km of the Kish Island in the Persian Gulf.
