Rouhani warns country off hypothetical threats

TEHRAN, Apr. 25 (MNA) Speaking at NAJA conference today in Tehran, President Rouhani has warned the armed and security forces against getting involved in hypothetical threats.

Speaking at the national conference of Irans Law Enforcement Force (NAJA) commanders, heads and managers, President Rouhani maintained that in the two previous Iranian years the government has fully allocated Armed Forces' budget.

Some criticize the government for increasing the Armed Forces' budget, saying the 11th government was supposed to reduce the countrys level of security environment, but having a policized society and a society with a good police force are two different matters, said Rouhani, noting maintaining the country's security costs a lot.

He deemed poverty and unemployment the first cause of insecurity in society, labeling them as the main vices that should be avoided.

Rouhani warned the armed and security forces against getting involved in hypothetical threats, adding any reaction to a hypothetical threat would turn it into a real one.

The President also considered drugs and social pathologies as the priorities of the government to be tackled, adding unemployment, poverty and drugs were the roots of corruption and crimes.

He also maintained that all were equal before the law, adding every citizen is equal before the law and the foreign visitors too are under the protection of the Law Enforcement Force.
