Tehran, April 19, IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei ordered the Iranian army forces to increase their military might and defense power.




Addressing a group of commanders and staff members of the Iranian army here on Sunday, he stressed the need for maintaining and strengthening religious and revolutionary spirit and the defense and military power of the country.

He said Iran has never been a threat to the regional and neighboring countries but is determined to vigorously confront any aggressions.

The Supreme Leader further referred to firm commitment to religious values as one of the outstanding characteristics of the Iranian army.

He regretted that many armies worldwide have no sense of commitment to the human values and international regulations.

He pointed to the US army as a major example in the case, saying that they embark on any kind of violation of international regulations in total disregard of human values.
