Cleric urges political analysts to trust insiders on nuclear issue

Tehran, April 10, IRNA Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader encouraged political activists and analysts in Iran to have confidence in what Iranian negotiators say about the results of negotiations rather than listen to Americans.

Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami said the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei is supervising nuclear negotiations generally, but the officials are responsible for the details.

'His Excellency has determined essentials and asked the officials to follow them,' said Ayatollah Khatami.

He called on supporters and opponents of the Lausanne Joint Statement to criticize it logically and fairly and try to see realities and not to use any inappropriate words.

Ayatollah Khatami said although the Supreme Leader has endorsed the Iranian negotiators several times, he is also worried because the other side is not reliable.

'This indicates that they lack commitment and negotiators should pay attention to this point,' the ayatollah continued.

'The supreme leader has determined an important point that the final agreement would be accepted by Iranians when all sanctions are lifted totally on the same day of signing the agreement.'

Tehran substitute Friday prayers leader continued that the nuclear negotiating team can only discuss on nuclear issues and military problems are not negotiable.

Khatami stressed that Iran will continue to build all kinds of preventive arsenals except nuclear bombs.
