Kamalvandi: Iran-US technical talks making headway

Lausanne, March 31, IRNA Deputy head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Behruz Kamalvandi said on Tuesday that the Iran-US technical talks are making headway slowly.

Commenting on negotiations underway between head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali-Akbar Salehi, and the US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, Kamalvandi said that the two parties are advancing to settle the technical issues.

'The technical talks are advancing and moving forward. We are making headway sometime slowly and sometime achieve breakthrough about certain issues.'

Asked about the negotiations underway by foreign ministers in Lausanne, he said that the foreign ministers are involved in brainstorming talks.

Kamalvandi said that it is natural the process to go ahead a little slowly considering complexity of issues and expiry of the deadline.

He made it clear that the subjects are under scrutiny to make long-term decisions; so, the two sides have their own sensitivity.
