Western diplomats: Iran nuclear talks likely to continue through Monday
Iran FM meets with world power counterparts in Lausanne.

Iran and the six world powers continued Sunday in their efforts to reach a framework agreement by Tuesday that would set general principles for solving the disagreement over Tehran's nuclear program.

With only three days left before the deadline, the foreign ministers of France and Germany arrived in the afternoon at Lausanne's Beau-Rivage Palace Hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva where the talks are taking place, to join the intensive negotiations already underway between Iran and the U.S.

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini arrived in Lausanne on Saturday evening, and said that the sides have never been closer to an agreement. She stressed, however, that there are still differences to overcome. On Sunday, the foreign ministers of Russia, Britain and China will join the talks.

2:48 P.M.The foreign minister of Iran will meet with his counterparts from Germany, France, China, U.S. and the EU in Lausanne at 3:30 P.M. (Israel time) in an effort to reach a breakthrough in the negotiations. As the foreign ministers of Britain and Russia are not currently in Lausanne, their states will be represented in the meeting by the heads of their negotiating teams. Western diplomats now in Lausanne believe that the negotiations will continue through Monday.

12:09 P.M.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that he is deeply concerned by the agreement being formed between Iran and the world powers. The "dangerous deal" being negotiated in Lausanne "reaffirms" Israel's concerns, he says."The axis of Iran-Lausanne-Yemen is very dangerous to all humanity and must be stopped," he adds.

10:26 A.M.U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is now meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif for the eighth time in four days. U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz and the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akhbar Salehi, are also taking part in the meeting. The meeting started later than scheduled, due to a glitch following the switching of the clocks to Daylight Saving Time.

9:15 A.M.U.S. Secretary of State JohnKerry has canceled plans to return to the United States for an event honoring his late Senate colleague Edward Kennedy in order to remain at the ongoing Iran nuclear talks in Switzerland.
