Lavrov, Kerry set to meet on sidelines of Iran nuclear talks in Lausanne

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry will hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Iranian nuclear problem in Lausanne.

The meeting will definitely take place the question is when, Ryabkov told RIA Novosti.

Talks onthe Iranian nuclear program are currently underway inLausanne. The foreign ministers ofIran, Germany, France, China and the United States aswell asthe European Union foreign policy chief are already inSwitzerland. Russia's Sergei Lavrov and UK's Phillip Hammond are expected tojoin the talks later onSunday.

Tehran and P5+1 countries, comprising Russia, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany have been trying towork outa comprehensive agreement guaranteeing the peaceful nature ofIrans nuclear activities sinceNovember, 2013. The negotiators have set the end ofJune, 2015 asthe deadline forreaching the final deal, while the political framework forthe agreement is expected tobe ready byMarch 31.

On Saturday, Ryabkov said that the sides have moved todiscussing the most complicated issues regarding the Iranian nuclear program such asthe sanctions imposed onTehran, Irans enrichment activities and the future ofFordow Fuel Enrichment Plant.
