Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that significant progress was made at the latest round of nuclear talks between Tehran and the P5+1 group of international mediators.

LAUSANNE (Sputnik)�� Negotiators in�the Iran nuclear deal have realized that sanctions and agreements do not go together, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Saturday at�the nuclear talks in�Lausanne, Switzerland.

"I believe they have realized � sanctions, pressure and an agreement will not go together," Zarif told journalists at�a press conference.

The Iranian foreign policy chief stressed Tehran has made a "political decision" to�work toward�an agreement in�a dignified manner.

"I believe our negotiating partners also need to�make this decision," Zarif said.

Significant progress was made at�the latest round�of nuclear talks between�Tehran and the P5+1 group of�international mediators, which may lead to�signing of�the final agreement, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Saturday.

"We had excellent meetings, and we made a lot of�progress� We discussed all the issues that need to�be resolved," Zarif told reporters.

"I think we can on�fact make the necessary progress to�be able to�solve all the problems and to�start writing them down�in the text that will be the final agreement," he added.

Iran's nuclear program has been a matter of�concern for�a number of�Western countries, which kept accusing Tehran of�developing a nuclear weapon under�the guise of�a peaceful program. Iran, in�turn, repeatedly stated that the country's nuclear activities are aimed purely at�meeting growing energy needs.

Tehran is currently in�talks with�the P5+1 group of�international mediators comprising Russia, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom and Germany, in�an attempt to�find a comprehensive deal, ensuring a peaceful nature of�the Iranian nuclear program.

A new round�of Iranian nuclear talks kicked off�in Lausanne on�Thursday and expected to�conclude on�Sunday.
