Common understanding reached on technical issues: Salehi

LAUSANNE, Mar. 26 (MNA) On the first day of the 2nd round of nuclear talks in Lausanne, head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has said the two sides have reached a common understating on technical issues.
Ali Akbar Salehi told reporters on Thursday morning that this common understanding will be of great help for reaching the final deal in the future.

He also noted that any prediction of results at this stage of nuclear negotiations was difficult to make, although there has been a mutual understanding regarding all technical issues.

I have been always optimistic [about the results of a nuclear agreement], and I am optimistic at the moment, too, he said.

Salehi and the US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz held a meeting today in Lausanne on various technical issues such as Araks heavy water reactor, Fordow nuclear facility, enrichment, and research and development.

The two had also held technical negotiations during the last four rounds of talks in Switzerland.
