Chairman of Irans Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani[/caption]Tehran, March 18, IRNA Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said Wednesday that interaction with the world to preserve national interests and dignity is a national and Islamic necessity.
In a message released on the eve of the New Year, Ayatollah Rafsanjani said the awareness of people and vigilance of the youth are very promising, expressing hope that in the next year the country would witness major progress.
Referring to regional developments, escalation of terrorism and massacre of innocent people across the region, the ayatollah said that acts of extremism and lack of political and cultural ethics are regretful.
He advised Western governments that spread of Iranophobia would benefit no country.
