The hour-long talks were led for Iran by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the US by Secretary of State John Kerry.
The meeting between Irans nuclear head Ali Akbar Salehi and his American counterpart Ernest Moniz ended almost simultaneous with the Zarif-Kerry negotiations.
Before that, Irans Foreign Ministry deputies Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi held talks with the US undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman.
