Rome, March 13, IRNA Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Vatican`s Minister of Culture, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi on Thursday underlined expansion of mutual cooperation.

Jannati, who is on a three-day official visit to Italy at the head of a high-ranking delegation, suggested Iran-Vatican cooperation in exchange of cultural and academic delegations, manuscripts' survey, exchange of movies with religious content and further inter-religion dialogues.


The two ministers also held talks on religious diplomacy and dialogue among religions to face international crises both practically and theoretically, mutual cooperation for common religious understanding and religious injunctions.

The two sides also emphasized undeniable role of the religious leaders, especially leaders of Islam and Christianity, in restoration of stability, global security and peace and campaign against terrorism, extremism and war mongering. The Iranian delegation appreciated stances of the Catholic religious leader Pope Francis stances against violence and war mongering.
