TEHRAN March 03(Shana)--287 articles have been sent for presentation at the 2nd National Iranian Drilling Industry Congress that is underway in Tehran for three days.

Head of upstream campus at the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) Mohammadreza Kamali made the remarks adding drilling is the most important component of oil and gas production in Iran.

Stating that there is a distance between Irans drilling industry and state-of-the-art drilling technology in the world, Kamali noted that encouraging completion and backing private sector is the best option for going ahead with drilling activities in domestic oil and gas fields.
He continued that imposing sanctions over the recent years pushed drilling industry to meet itsgrowingneeds from domestic market.
Realization of economy of resistance principles in drilling sector depends on technological progresses, generating revenue and exportation of technical and engineering services, RIPI official said.
He further said that creating a proper environment for interaction between drilling industry activists, documentation and examination of challenges drilling industry faces are the main targets of holding the congress.
According to Kameli, from the 287 articles sent, 57 percent has been prepared by oil industry experts and 43 percent by academic and research centers.
