Irans position with regard to major Intl. indicators

Irans-economyTehran, Feb 26, IRNA According to certain international indicators such as economic freedom, global compatibility, and trade capability Irans ranking was 173, 83 and 131 in 2014, respectively.




As reported by the Industry, Mines and Trade Organization with regard to economic freedom Irans ranking was 173 among 185 world countries while Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, by gaining the first to third rakings, held scores of 90.1, 89.4 and 82, respectively.

In the corresponding list Iran holds an score of 40.3 and the country above Iran is the Republic of Congo with a score of 40.6 and the country below Iran is Eritrea with the score 38.8.

The indicator for economic freedom is based on the governance of law and efficiency of disciplined regulations and generally the world economy is moving towards further freedom.

The economic freedom indicator shows that 43 world countries such as Singapore, Sweden, Colombia, Poland, Cape Verde and Turkey have gained highest scores as compared to previous years.

Iran in the ranking of global compatibility stood in the 83rd place among 144 world countries and in trade capability ranked 131 among 138 countries.

Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade last month announced that during the 10 months of the current year (starting March 21) non-oil exports amounted to $42.5 billion which showed an increase of 22% over the previous year.

Meanwhile, imports during the same period stood at $43.6 billion which made an increase of 15% over the past year.

Currently, official reports of the 11th government indicate that inflation growth rate last month dropped to zero and it is expected that with harnessing the 40% inflation rate of the previous government, one of the economic measures has proven to be effective.
