Iran seeking rise of petrochemicals exports to over $16 billion

TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian trade official said the country plans to increase petrochemicals exports to over $16 billion.
Iranian petrochemicals are mainly exported to India, China and the UAE, said Director of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization Mehrdad Jalali-Pour, We intend to increase petrochemicals exports to $16.6 billion this year (which started on March 21, 2014).

He also highlighted potentials in the Middle East, and Persian Gulf countries and importance of creating petrochemical and polymeric exports, saying that establishing the required mechanisms and taking the required steps would pave the way for Iran to have an appropriate share of market of these goods.

Jalali-Pour said that Iran can find a share in Iraqi and Afghan markets as well as Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.
