TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) � The head of archeology team of Shahr-e Sukhte (Burnt City) announced the discovery of a beautiful marble cup and architectural structures in this ancient site.
According to IRNA, Mansour Seyed Sajadi said during the 14th season of explorations in Shahr-e Sukhte, "we did find a marvelous cup of marble in the grave of a woman who was buried along with her child."


He added �we have established three workshops in residential side of the city to evaluate the architectural structures and we have accomplished discovering new walls, floors, and a U-shaped stove.�


Sajadi continued �our team has also encountered a set of thick walls and structures related to the last period of habitation in this city. They seem to be part of a great public building; however we need more exploration to conclude.�


The team has discovered different decorative objects such as necklaces, mirrors, and colorful pots and clays. However, the most important and beautiful one is the marble cup.


Shahr-e Sukhte is an archaeological site of a sizable Bronze Age urban settlement, associated with the Jiroft culture. It is located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the southeastern part of Iran, on the bank of the Helmand River. In July 2014, it was registered on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
