Rise in Iran's steel production

Tehran, Dec 22, IRNA - Production of crude steel and steel products in the country over the past eight months, ending November 21 shows a rise of 6.8 and 4.8 percent respectively.
According to a report released by Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) on Sunday, Iranian crude steel output reached 11.26 million tons during the period while last years corresponding figure was 10.54 million tons, according to Monday's edition of 'Iran Daily'.
Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khouzestan Steel Company, Esfahan Steel Company, Hormuzgan Steel Company, Saba Steel Company, Khorasan Steel Complex, Iran Alloy Steel Company and Iran National Steel Industrial Group were the main producers of crude steel with 3.7 million tons, 2.25 million tons, 1.86 million tons, 762,000 tons, 524,000 tons, 479,000 tons, 271,000 tons and 120,000 tons respectively.

Also, 11.65 million tons of steel products were produced in the said period, while the related output for last year was 11.12 million tons.

According to the report, crude steel and steel product output of the country during October 23-November 21 stood at 1.46 million tons and 1.4 million tons respectively.
