Iran inaugurates ATM production line
TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran has launched production line of Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and has exported the first consignment of which to Turkmenistan.
"Iran has sent the first consignment of locally-made ATMs to Turkmenistan," said Mohammad Lohrasbi-Nejad, Head of ATM-manufacturing company presidium.

He further noted that the country now lacks enough ATMs and needs to make 40.000 other machines.

According to Lohrasbi-Nejad, 198 million credit cards, and 35.000 ATMs are available in Iran which fail to meet demands of the country.

There is one ATM for each 6.000 credit cards in Iran, while one is needed for each 1.000 credit cards, he said, adding the company has received a permit to manufacture 10.000 ATMs in year.

Iran can also export the device to Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Egypt, Middle Eastern and African states as well.
