TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Irans parliament speaker Ali Larijani says the issue of anti-Iran sanctions should be settled in the nuclear talks between Tehran and the six world powers to put the negotiations on a more rational track.Ali Larijani described the extension of the talks as a wise decision and called on the West to take a careful behavior toward Iran.
The senior Iranian lawmaker also cautioned the Western countries against what he called deception in the course of the nuclear talks.
He reiterated that Iran has never been after nuclear weapons and its atomic energy program is for peaceful purposes only.
Larijani also cautioned the US and its allies not to do anything that may "make Iran change its behavior" in the course of the nuclear talks.
Earlier this week, top diplomats from Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) decided to extend talks on Tehrans peaceful nuclear program for more seven months.
A fresh round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) were held ahead of the self-imposed deadline of November 24.
On November 24, 2013, Iran and the G5+1 (alternatively known as the P5+1 or E3+3) signed an interim nuclear deal in the Swiss city of Geneva.
The Geneva deal (the Joint Plan of Action) came into effect in January and expired in July, when the parties decided to extend negotiations until November 24 in the hope of clinching a final deal that would end a decade of impasse over Tehrans peaceful nuclear energy program.
