Agreement between Iran and P5+1 to be finalized soon: Russia's envoy

The last four days were more productive in terms of adopted decisions on Iranian nuclear issue than the last four months, Russia's main negotiator said.

VIENNA, November 25 (Sputnik) The final draft ofa comprehensive nuclear agreement ontheIranian nuclear programcould be finalized inthe nearfuture, Russia's main negotiator inthe talks said Tuesday.
"Of course, we will still have toput some serious effort tocoordinate technical details, butthe main document, I think, will soon be atthe final stages ofpreparedness," Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

The latest roundoftalksonthe Iranian nuclear issue betweenTehran and theP5+1 groupofinternational negotiators, which comprises Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany, was held inVienna onMonday.

The participants agreed toextend the deadline forreaching the deal untilJuly 1 next year and toresume negotiations inthe next few weeks.

Ryabkov also stressed the efficiency ofthe latest roundof negotiations betweenTehran and P5+1. "The last four days were more productive interms ofadopted decisions thanthe last four months," Ryabkov said.

"The remaining issues are so obvious that we are hoping the announced postponement is certainly the last one," the diplomat added.

According toRyabkov, the negotiating sides managed toreach a convergence ofviews and it is not an exaggeration, when senior officials indifferent countries say that significant progress was made duringthe talks.

Despite the fact that no comprehensive agreement was reached onMonday, senior politicians including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, EU diplomat Catherine Ashton, US Secretary ofState John Kerry and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the sides made significant progress.

Before the new deadline forreaching the comprehensive deal regarding the Iranian nuclear program was announced, there was much speculation asto whether or not the talks would be continued if the ministerial meeting failed toland an agreement.
