Photos: Muharram mourning ceremonies in Masuleh, Northern Iran

Iranians across the country hold mourning rituals in Muharram, first month in lunar calendar, tenth of which marks Ashura when third Imam of Shias and grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his 72 companions were martyred by army of Yazid in year 61 Hegira. Muslims use black as color of mourning and green flags and signs as symbols of family of Prophet.
