Rouhani believes P5+1, Iran can reach final nuclear agreement before deadline

MOSCOW, October 23 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Thursday he believes that Tehran and the P5+1 group can reach a final nuclear deal before the November 24 deadline.
The gained experience demonstrates that the agreementcan be reached by the deadline, Rouhani said as quoted by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

To reach the agreement would not be easy but significant steps have been taken, the president added.

The West has long been concerned withIran's nuclear activities, accusing Tehran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear program, claims that have been repeatedly denied by Iranian authorities.

At a meeting in November 2013 in Geneva, Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council- Russia, China, France,Britain, and the United States plus Germany, agreed to reach a long-term nuclear agreement on Iran by July 2014 but the deadline was later postponed to November 24, 2014.

As the deadline draws closer and an agreement is yet to be reached, there has been much speculation in the media on whether the deadline could be postponed, however, no officials have confirmed these reports.
