Iraqi nation should fight Takfiri groups in a united front, cleric
Tehran, Oct 22, IRNA Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi urged the Iraqi nation to form a united front to fight Takfiri groups especially the ISIL.
In a meeting with the visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi here on Wednesday, the ayatollah said the Iraqi nation, both Shiite and Sunni, should unite to overcome Takfiri groups including Daesh.
He believed unity among different political parties in the present critical juncture and making use of valuable experiences of the past governments are the most effective tools to strengthen resistance process against the global bullying powers, Zionists and Takfiri terrorists.

He said the Iraqi nation will gain the ultimate victory.

Al-Abadi pointed to the big challenges Iraq is presently confronting and said they are mostly due to regional elements who are trying to spread divergence between Iraqi Shiites and Sunnis.

Saying that Sunni victims outnumber those of the Shiite in Iraq, he said his government was trying to make the best of all chances to help Iraqis who have been forced out of their homes in Mosul.

The prime minister stressed that Daesh terrorist group was not a threat merely to Iraq but to the whole Islamic world.
