Iran will continue support for Iraq in campaign against terrorism: Jahangiri
Tehran, Oct 21, IRNA Iran will continue unconditional support for the Iraqi government in campaign against terrorism, First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Tuesday.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

Jahangiri said that the Iraqi Army and nation have the capability to eliminate terrorist groups.

Iraqi prime minister for his part noted that spread of terrorism has posed threat to the Iraqi national security and is a challenge for the whole region's stability.

Terrorist groups have been created to provoke discord among followers of various sects of Islam, he said.

Jahangiri and al-Abadi agreed to develop all-out cooperation in all fields.

Iran-Iraq relations are growing and al-Abadi arrived in Tehran late Monday night to review issues of mutual interests.

The Iraqi ministers of oil, electricity, commerce, water resources as well as parliamentarians are accompanying al-Abadi. It is his first visit to Iran since taking office.
