Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA - 10th International Exhibition on Mining and Mining Industries kicked off in Tehran on Friday morning.
250 companies including 90 foreign firms from Australia, Italy, Germany, Belorussia, Taiwan, Turkey, China, Russia and Kazakhstan are attending the 3-day event.
Iran is one of the most important mineral producers in the world and is listed among the top 15 major mineral-rich countries.

According to official sources, Iran holds 37 billion tons of proven reserves and more than 57 billion tons of potential reserves worth $770 billion in 2014.

Despite these high figures, mineral production contributes only 0.6 percent to the countrys GDP.

Iran, laying on 7 percent of the world's total mineral reserves, has an undeniable potential in attracting more foreign inventors.
