Qazvin, Chinas Haikou to become sisters
QAZVIN, Oct. 12 (MNA) Irans Qazvin and Chinese Haikou will cooperate in terms of tourism and trade; plan to become sister cities

A delegation of China is in Qazvin to draft a memorandum of understanding between the Iranian city and Chinese city of Haikou. The delegation also paid a visit to Qazvins historical and tourism centers, and on Saturday evening, attended the City Councils meeting.


Lin King Sheng, head of Haikous City Council International Affairs told the meeting that Qazvin housed many tourism attractions, and that sisterhood agreement between Haikou and Qazvin would help extend relations.





We are happy to visit a city of many historical and tourism attractions; people are very hospitable. We think that tourism capacities would improve our relations with Qazvin, Sheng added.


Haikou, with more than 2 million inhabitants, is an industrial center, and we attract millions of tourists annually, and we have hosted increasing number of tourists in recent years, Sheng told the City Council meeting, we welcome exchange experiences with Qazvin and this is a good opportunity to improve relations with your province more than before.


Sheng also officially invited Qazvin City Council members for a visit to Chinese southern city so that they make an acquaintance with Haikous industrial and tourism potentials. The meeting also set the scene for signing a sisterhood agreement between two cities.





Qazvins deputy-head of City Council Ali Farahzadi expressed gratitude for Chinese delegation visit to Qazvin to develop economic and tourism relations. Haikous election as the host of Asian city mayors meeting provides good opportunities to communicate potentials of each city; Iran and China has very high economic and political relations, and Irans city councils have found venues for signing deals in different aspects with China according to their own local capacities, said Farahzadi.


Managing Director of Qazvin Municipal Reconstruction and Renovation Organization of Qazvin Municipality Mr. Alireza Khazaeli said that the 4thAsian City Mayors Forum would be hosted by Haikou. The Chinese delegation visited Barajin Park, Qajar historical bath, Saadodoleh monument, Sepah historical street, and Safavidowlatkhaneh(administrative) center; the preliminary arrangements have been made for Qazvin and Haikous sisterhood, and the deal will be signed Sunday, he added.
