Iran, Kazakhstan trade to hit $2bn

TEHRAN, Sep. 01 (MNA) Iran and Kazakhstan signed an MoU at the end of thirteenth session of Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation to boost economic trade.

Abbas Akhundi, Minister of Urban Development and Construction, and Asset Issekeshev, the Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, signed an MoU to increase economic exchange between the two countries.


Akhundi asserted that the economic trades between the two countries can be increased to 2 billion dollars, and said: Irans railroad will connect to Kazakhstans through Turkmenistan, and soon will be launched by presidents of the three countries.


In order to use railroad and road infrastructures, as well asCaspian Seatransportation, we have agreed on forming a joint group to equalize tariffs to pave the way for more trade,he maintained


Considering Kazakhstans agricultural products and development of Irans trade, we discussed issues about agriculture as well, Akhundi remarked. Industrial and Mining issues were also discussed, and due to the great performance of Iranian companies in Kazakhstan, we believe that the export of engineering services to Kazakhstan will also increase.


It was also decided to hold the joint commission every year and to have a committee to facilitate trade and transportation, he stated and added that with President Rouhanis visit to Kazakhstan, the opportunity to further develop the two countries ties will be provided and in terms of banking transactions, we will be able to reach desirable solutions.


Issekeshev, the Minister ofInvestment and Development ofKazakhstan, stated that we found great potential in cooperating with Iran in the fields of trade, industry, agriculture, construction, transportation, mining and tourism, and certain agreements were reached.


He went on saying during President Rouhanis visit to Kazakhstan, Iran and Kazakhstans business conference will be held.


The thirteenth session of the Joint Commission forEconomic Cooperationbetween Iran and Kazakhstan was held for two days in Shahid Dadman building in the Ministry of Urban Development and Construction.
