 Iranian delegation visits Srinagars historic Jamia Masjid
Srinagar, June 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in connection with the observance of 25th death anniversary of the founder of Islamic revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, Iranian Ambassador to India, Ghulam Raza Ansari, who is currently on a visit to Kashmir, along with the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior Hurriyet leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, offered prayers at historic Jamia Masjid.
The APHC Chairman while welcoming the Iranian ambassador to Kashmir mentioned the age-old relationship between Iran and Kashmir in areas of culture, tradition, and people to people contacts. The Mirwaiz led the afternoon prayers attended by the Iranian delegation and senior Hurriyet leaders.

The Iranian ambassador lauded the uniqueness, art, and crafts of the historic Jamia Masjid. He stated that the Masjid was an important asset of Islamic ummah. The delegates minutely observed the art, architecture and wood work used in the Masjid from internal and external sides of the mosque.

Meanwhile, Anjumane-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid while welcoming the Iranian delegates apprised them about the history and construction of the Masjid. They also produced the documents published by Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (late) regarding the Islam and Islamic history in Kashmir.
