Israel planning to destroy more Palestinian homes

TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel is planning to demolish more Palestinian homes and water wells in the occupied West Bank, a report said.
Israeli forces invaded the village of Yatma in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus to give eviction orders to three Palestinian families, said Ghassan Daghlas, the Palestinian official in charge of monitoring illegal settlers' activities in the area, on Tuesday, press tv reported.

The Palestinians privately-owned houses are planned to be demolished soon.

Also a staff from the Israeli civil administration backed by military forces arrived in the village of Kherbat al-Fakhit in the Southern West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron) and handed two local residents notices for demolishing their two water wells used for collecting rain water for daily supply, said Raed Jubur, an anti-settlement activist.

Israeli forces have recently razed dozens of Palestinian homes in separate areas in the occupied West Bank, displacing scores of people.

On January 9, Israeli military forces backed by bulldozers entered the village of Khirbet Ein Karzaliyah and destroyed the entire village. They left dozens of people there homeless and destroyed the only water pipe leading into the village.

On February 6, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said Israel has demolished 390 Palestinian homes in the West Bank's Jordan Valley in 2013, which resulted in the displacement of nearly 600 Palestinians.

It noted that the numbers have doubled in comparison with the year before.

Rights groups say Tel Avivs demolitions are aimed at grabbing more land for construction of illegal settlements on Palestinian lands and launching military projects in the occupied territories.
