The Iranian Petroleum Ministry has approved the construction of 1,000 liquefied gas stations by private business, according to Mustafa Kashkouli, Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), Day.az reports.
About 150 gas stations were closed in autumn 2013 due to low gas prices. Prices for liquefied gas will be increased from 5,000 to 7,000 rials per cubic meters (24,838 rials = $1) in the next year (the year in Iran starts on March 21).
Iran has 1980 gas compression stations at the moment.
