Europeans keen to resume cooperation with Iran, says Shipping Lines Head

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Managing-Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) Mohammad Hossein Dajmar announced on Wednesday that European countries are willing to resume cooperation with Iran on shipping industry.
"The Iranian vessels have not yet moved towards Europe, but the atmosphere for easing sanctions on Iranian shipping line is positive, and besides European countries have expressed willingness for resuming cooperation with Iran," he said.

He added the country has the capability and potential of transferring car, petrochemistry and oil shipments by 1 million barrels.

Dajmar further said Iran is in talks with officials of other countries to open banking channels to provide fundamental goods and drugs as expressing the hope that sanctions on Iranian shipping line industry would be lifted.

"Iranian vessels are not moving in European borders, and the goods are mainly transferred through Persian Gulf which increases the expenses."

He reiterated that the climate for easing embargo on shipping line industry and oil tankers is positive.
