Rafsanjani: US extremists bent on killing Geneva accord

Tehran, Dec 14, IRNA Chairman of Assembly of Expediency Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Saturday that US extremists are bent on killing the Geneva Accord.
He told a group of students that extremists both in Iran and the US follow a common goal, that is to kill the Geneva Accord.

He said the US President Barack Obama is also under pressure by extremists in the US over the Accord. The hardliners in the two sides think war is the only key to problems.

Ayatollah Rafsanjani said that the best thing with the Geneva Accord maybe is removal of the evil casting its shadow on Iranian people. Of course, taking delivery of part of Iranian frozen assets should be taken for granted.

?I should say strongly that no concession we have made. They have not given much concession either. However, lets not forget that good events have taken place due to expansion of relations between Iran and the world.

Rafsanjani said that certain groups or individuals are working hard to drive the deal to deadend, but, they should know that people will not allow them to do so.

Had the Supreme Leader not supported the negotiating team, the extremists would not have allowed it to work, Ayatollah Rafsanjani said, adding that specially important is that after return of the team from the talks, there were hue and cry in a bid to compare the nuclear deal with the Turkmenchai Accord.

Had it not been for timely support and thanking of the Supreme Leader, the extremists would have blamed the government and the negotiating team.
