President Rouhani condoles with Borazjan quake victims’ families

Tehran, Nov 28, IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a condolence message addressed to the bereaved family members of the Borazjan Thursday evening earthquake victims deeply sympathized with them.
“The news on the occurrence of the earthquake in Borazjan Township and getting killed and wounded of a number of our dear citizens in the event deeply saddened and depressed me,” said the president in his message.


“While condoling and sympathizing with the entire bereaved family members of the dead, the injured victims, and those who have suffered material losses, I pray to Almighty Allah for the salvation of the souls of the bygone, rapid recovery of the wounded victims, and patience for their bereaved family members,” he added.

The president has at the end of his message also asked the whole concerned officials to mobilize their entire facilities, dispatch the relief and rescue forces, and to provide all that is needed in support and assistance for the quake stricken regions.

A 5.7-magnitude earthquake near an Iranian nuclear plant has killed seven people and injured 30, according to reports.

The quake?s epicenter was near Borazjan, around 60km from Bushehr, where Iran has its Russian-built reactor.

Emergency Response Chief Hassan Qadami told IRNA news agency: ?So far, there are seven dead and 30 injured receiving hospital treatment.?

Iran stands on several seismic fault lines. A massive quake in December 2003 struck the southern city of Bam, killing 26,000 people and destroying its ancient mud-built citadel.
