Bahrain authority responsible for problem of dismissed workers

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Labor Unions and Civil Society Organizations Unit in Al Wefaq is amazed at the statement made by the Justice Minister, that the issue of those dismissed following the eruption of the pro-democracy uprising, has been closed and that there are no justifications to speak in the issue.

The bigger surprise is that the statement denying the issue comes on the second anniversary of the issuance of the Bassiouni report which documented wide dismissals.

Hundreds have not yet been reinstated in their jobs, revealing the ugly truth behind the polishing-statements of the minister. Tens of those waiting to be reinstated occupied jobs in the public sector before their dismissal. The Governments stalling in the reinstatement of these workers encourages further violations, Alwefaq.net reported.

The Unit would like to remind that Prof. Cherif Bassiouni, who chaired the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, had stated before his commission began, that those who were dismissed would be reinstated.

The international community, which called for the Bassiouni recommendations to be implemented, including the reinstatement of all dismissed workers, will not be fooled by the Governments stalling and denial of the problem.
