Press TV has talked with Dr. Kevin Barrett, with the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance from Madison to shed more light on the Israels possible efforts to sabotage the historic interim deal between Iran and the P5+1 in Geneva on Irans peaceful nuclear energy program.
What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV:We are hearing a lot about how this nuclear deal can be successful. The Iranian foreign minister, the chief nuclear negotiator, just told the media as we saw in that piece of news, that the way for this deal to be successful is for the United States not to give in to pressure from lobby groups from Israel and the US Congress.

Do you agree with that?

Barrett:That is absolutely correct. The Israelis are very angry about this deal and they are going to sabotage it.
There was a story in todaysNew York timesquoting top Israeli officials as saying that they have six months now to sabotage this agreement and they are going to be doing everything they can do so.

Some of us are concerned that they might even take extreme measures, as they occasionally have in the past, false flag terror attacks and such are always a possibility.

When the Zionists feel that their interests are seriously threatened, they will certainly be doing anything they can to sabotage these talks in Congress. They do largely own the United States Congress, they are able to throw people out of Congress anytime they want.
So the Congress will probably be causing all sorts of trouble for these deal and the problem is that that will give the impression that Iran is not being respected if the US administration and the international community allow the US Congress to do this kind of Zionist sabotage.

So I hope that wiser forces in the US leadership and in the international community will find a way to circumvent the Zionist sabotage and to continue to be minimally respectful in their dealings with Iran in order to see this deal through.

Press TV:... From day one of these negotiations, led by Mr. Zarif, that it wants a win-win solution. Now we are seeing Iran says and the United States saying that they are both satisfied with the solution or the deal that has been made.

Iran going to stop its 20 percent enrichment, allow further inspections and the US on the other hand easing some of the sanctions. Why then is Israel calling this a historic mistake?

Barrett:
Well, you know, Israel is not really concerned about Iranian nuclear weapons, Israels concern is, they need a diversion from the real issues in the Middle East and if they can have the world focusing on Irans nuclear program and pretending that there is some kind of a crisis, when there is not one, then the world will not be paying attention to the plight of the Palestinian people and of course to Israels extremely threatening and reckless nuclear program.

So Israel is really running the kind of a propaganda operation, the diversionary kind of operation, in which they are trying to put the world on the trail of everyone except for themselves.
And if the Iran crisis fades away, as it looks like it will; then pressure will be on Israel to reach a deal with the Palestinians and the worlds nuclear non-proliferation community might even start paying its attention to what is going on at the Israeli nuclear facilities in Dimona, where there are reputedly more than 400 thermonuclear weapons plus an unknown number of miniature nuclear weapons.
The Israeli nuclear program is the most dangerous program on earth and if the Israelis fail to keep forcing the worlds attention on Iran, that the worlds attention may suddenly focus on Israel and the weapons inspectors might even start poking around in Dimona.
